By using the Headstones piece which is a comment on the secrecy bill, as a starting point, I have endeavoured to create a body of work which questions language and the reality of how, we are “immersed in the culture of the statement, and that this language is coercive and forces a separation between the senses and understanding”. (Curator/theorist Chuz Martinez 2012)
It is therefore an attempt to re-associate or re-connect with our primordial narratives and in the process to try to manifest the unconscious…a place where the hand seems to know more than the head.
